Advocacy

VoICE Immunization Advocacy Toolkit

Immunization is critical to protecting the health of individuals, families, and communities across the globe. Faced with increasing challenges of vaccine hesitancy and competing government priorities, the need for child health and immunization professionals to demonstrate the broad benefits of immunization for global economies, health, and equity has never been more important.

As new challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, arise and the landscape becomes increasingly complex, the Value of Immunization Compendium of Evidence (VoICE) provides immunization and child health advocates with a variety of tools to help to build a persuasive case for prioritizing immunization, turning evidence into impact.

We have created a toolkit of advocacy resources free for anyone to use to help make the case for the value of vaccines.

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy is the act of supporting a cause, idea, or policy and convincing the right people of its importance and the need to act on it. Advocates turn research and evidence into persuasive stories and narratives to create change. This toolkit can help you prepare and carry out successful advocacy efforts by providing key tools to make the case for the importance of immunization.

An elevator pitch can help you to craft a clear, poignant message for an audience that isn’t already familiar with your issue.

We have included examples of elevator pitches framed around equity, global health security, strengthening health systems, and economic benefits. The Knowledge Hub provides over 350 examples of concise advocacy messaging based on evidence-based, credible scientific sources that can be used to help tailor your elevator pitch.
